Trait 9 of 13
Responsibility
Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.
Why it matters
Why this shapes a child
Trust is built in small, unglamorous places long before anyone hands a young person something large. Owning a mistake without excuses may be the single most useful thing a child learns in our classes.
Try this at home
Give one chore that is entirely theirs, and let the natural result stand when it slips.
Classes cover one trait at a time, so a short conversation at home is usually all it takes to reinforce the week's lesson.
Help your child grow in responsibility.
Weekly classes are voluntary, parent-approved, and led by trusted neighbors from churches across New London.
