Screening is part of caring well
Parents trust us with their children, so we hold every staff member and volunteer to the same standard the State of Ohio holds its teachers. Here is exactly what the process looks like.
A fingerprint check is not a reflection of anyone's character — it is simply how we keep our promise to every family who signs a permission slip. We believe you can never be too safe with the children entrusted to us.

BCI and FBI fingerprint checks
Every staff member and volunteer completes Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprint background checks before working with students — the same two checks the State of Ohio requires of its teachers. You will be given a location to be fingerprinted, and CCA covers the cost.
Orientation and a partner
You will be walked through the lesson materials and our child-safety guidelines, and you are never alone in a room with students — volunteers always serve in pairs.
