Why this shapes a child
A child convinced their life is going somewhere makes different choices than one who is only killing time. Purpose is the antidote to the drifting boredom that gets so many good kids into trouble.
Try this at home
Ask what they are good at that also helps someone else. Sit with the answer rather than correcting it.
Classes cover one trait at a time, so a short conversation at home is usually all it takes to reinforce the week's lesson.
