Trait 7 of 13

Academics

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.
Colossians 3:23
Why it matters

Why this shapes a child

Schoolwork becomes meaningful when a child sees effort as an offering rather than a chore. Students who work wholeheartedly stop chasing grades and start building the habits grades only measure.

Try this at home

Praise the effort you actually saw — the hour at the table — before you ever mention the score.

Classes cover one trait at a time, so a short conversation at home is usually all it takes to reinforce the week's lesson.

Help your child grow in academics.

Weekly classes are voluntary, parent-approved, and led by trusted neighbors from churches across New London.
